I put my hand in my pocket to take out my phone, it wasnât there!!!! Panic and fear set in. How do I find it. I canât ring it. Iâm 5km from camping spot. Oh no, I donât want to walk back. (Weâve all been there). Then relief, itâs in my other pocket. Phew. Heart slows down again.
What are you afraid of ?
I have friends afraid of spiders, snakes, heights and claustrophobia. Linda used to call me from bathroom,âSTEPHEN thereâs a runner in the bathâ.
Maybe you fear change (yesterday's thought)
I think most people are afraid of death, the big unknown. We donât talk about it, we avoid it, we brush it under the carpet, we think it will never happen. The âbad newsâ is that we will all die.
I donât fear dying. I did fear something happening to Linda which I have now faced and come through. Myself, I think a long illness is what Iâm afraid of. Itâs hard to understand someone elseâs fear if you donât have it. I give my friends a hard time with their fears. Iâm a joker and tease them awfully. I know I shouldnât butâŚ
Iâd say the âgood newsâ is that, we are all going to die. Hebrewâs tells us that we donât need to fear death because Jesus has overcome âdeathâ by His death on the cross.
I quoted this when Linda died. âWhere, O death, is your victory? Where, O death, is your sting?â The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:55-57
Itâs true, death is only a doorway into a perfect future with Christ, once we accept his amazing sacrifice at Calvary.
What are you afraid of?
Donât be, because if death is sorted then everything else is possible to overcome or maybe put up with.
I promise the lighten the mood tomorrow!!!!
