Moratinos to Sahagun to Calzadilla
( don't forget the post script from yesterday)
Had breakfast at 7 in the place where we had a lovely dinner last night. Left at 7:30. Yesterday was HOT hot hot. Today was HOT HOT hot. I hope tomorrow is not...
It must haved pushed 35+ this afternoon. Because we left late (never again) had two hours in the noonday sun. Booked into hotel to see how the other half live. €50 isn't bad after lots of free nights.
Linda loved art. Doing art, seeing art and watching others doing art. I was forced to watch Portrait artist of the year on 📺. Well not forced but watched with her because it gave her such pleasure. I went to exhibition today that went right over my head. They were lovely paintings and probably millions worth but I prefer being in the greatest gallery of the most famous artist ever,nature. God created such a variety of beauty, it would take your breath away. We pass it by every day but never SEE it. Walking in the wild I'm seeing more and more as my eyes are opened.
I enjoyed one piece today. It was after Jesus rose again and it was when he was taken up into heaven. The piece has only his nail pierced feet showing at the top and the group of forlorn disciples at the bottom. It was a sculptor not a painting and it made me smile.
In the account of his meeting the disciples after his resurrection in Matthew it said "and some doubted ".
How could this be? They were there and they saw everything.
We're the same, sometimes we believe with out a doubt but sometimes we jitter, particularly when hard thing happen.
In my reading today psalm 18 came up.
"I love you, LORD, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge,
my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
I called to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
and I have been saved from my enemies.
The cords of death entangled me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.
The cords of the grave coiled around me;
the snares of death confronted me.
In my distress I called to the LORD;
I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice;
my cry came before him, into his ears. " Psalm 18:1-6
Death easily trips us up.
But David finishes this section with "I cried to my God for help "
That is always a good place to start. When we doubt we run to the only certain place for help.
God will alway be a Rock and a Fortress what we can run to. I'm so thankful for that.
